FAMILY FRIENDLY HOTEL I was part of a coach trip organised by a local club. There was around 70-80 people on the trip, age ranges from tiny babies to the more mature older person, that stayed at The Grosvenor. This is the second time that my husband and I travelled with this group to the hotel, although they have been going for the last 7-8 years at the same time in August. We find all the staff very fiendly, the rooms are very comfortable and clean. The children were allowed free reign and were no trouble to other Hotel Guests. The meals were great, the breakfast were magnificent, you could eat as much as you liked at no extra expense, service was fast, the food hot, and the staff friendly and very helpfull. We were lucky enough to have evening meals when we stayed, we had a choice of three starters, three main and three sweets, followed by coffee in the upstairs lounge. I found it to be good value for money, and will definately be going again with the same group of people. For a coach load of people to stay at this hotel and have no complaints what so ever must be a good sign. Keep up the good work, and see you next year.
Good Hotel This is a Great hotel, friendly staff, Clean and rooms comfortable. I would recommend this to anyone. The location is perfect only 5 mins to the sea front and pubs. Thanks for a lovely stay and see you soon!
Great location and a decent hotel. I take my family and/or friends to Weston-Super-Mare quite regularly, and for me it ticks nearly all the right boxes for a holiday break. The last hotel we stayed at in 2017 was the Royal Grosvenor, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of accommodation having been less than impressed with it some 20 years ago. The food was very good, the beds provided a comfortable nights sleep and the service provided by staff was excellant. Being at the northerly end of the seafront makes it covenient for the Playhouse Theatre and it is only a stones throw away from the shops and the beach, the Pier is about 5 to 7 minutes walk away and the drinks bar has great veiws over the lawns to the sea. The prices are very reasonable and I would certainly go there again.
Perfect location with wonderful staff We stayed in this hotel as were going to a function on the pier. The one thing I did notice was lack of parking but with a public carpark 2 minutes away it was not a problem. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The breakfast was perfect and all you can eat is fab! The one thing i found outstanding here were the staff. Linda on reception was warm, welcoming and could not do enough for us. The review on here saying she is rude is completely untrue. Jade in the bar is also really helpful and friendly. If we go to Western Super Mare again we shall definately stay here again.
Enjoyable Winter Break Went with u3a holiday group organised by Just for Groups. Delightful ,recently updated room & shower room. The food was delicious & served by the most efficient team of youngsters. Altogether a really enjoyable winter break with friends.
Another Weekend in W-S-M Had an enjoyable stay in W-S-M based at the Royal Grosvenor, check in was very straightforward, tidy room, excellent breakfast both mornings, the Staff were very good, place seemed pretty tidy for quite a large hotel (55 rooms), would definitely stay again
Group of Friends Really had a wonderful stay. We came in several cars and although carpark is limited as it does state on the internet.. The lady on Reception, Linda, really friendly welcomed us and was really helpful advising us of car parking close by. Also she said regarding the refurbishment of the reception area and dining room. Linda apologised for the dust and mess, but as we all said we been notified when we did the booking. The hotel is an old building they have refurbished some of it. Our bedrooms were on the second floor, all sea views away from the dust and noise, these were excellent and all our party could not fault them., tea and coffee facilities free wifi, comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean taking into consideration the hotel doing refurbishment. We had a drink in the bar which Linda also covered. Really friendly we will definitely book again.
Great venue for party On Saturday 30th July family stayed in the hotel & we celebrated my daughters 21st birthday here. We used the function room with a fabulous back drop of the seafront and pier. Staff were helpful & friendly. Great venue for parties. Hotel rooms great value for money with sea views. Clean & well presented. We decorated the function room & the DJ played til midnight. Thank you to Linda & all the staff who made our evening run so smoothly!
Lovely hotel Stayed hear for one night lovely location near to every thing staff very nice and friendly room was clean and comfy.breakfast was very tasty and only 6.00per person every thing you need tea juices coffee jams ECT and full English ECT if you want one.would recommend this hotel and would return.😃😃
Best hotel in Weston every think was amazing good value for money Well what can I say this place was fantastic lovely family hotel every member of staff lovely very clean places we had family room was so lovely clean breakfast was so lovely eat as much as you want we had good entertainment elvis Presley we been to lots of hotels in Weston this is one of best ever
Nice Value for money, clean , well presented room with a wonderful sea view. Clean and very spacious. Breakfast was nice only criticism was coffee given with breakfast was not to our taste but had plenty of juice to compensate would definitely use again. Picture is the view from our room
Lovely friendly Hotel The staff definitely made this hotel. Nothing was 2 much trouble for them. Rooms were adequate and cleaned daily. Ok to get your head down but don’t expect the Ritz. The breakfast was pukka. Plenty of healthy options and once again the breakfast staff couldn’t do enough for us. Would like to say a big thank you to the Lovely Linda on reception, Mary who seemed to do everything and the breakfast staff who were Polite and professional. Parking can be difficult as contractors needed some spaces but were working on improving the building. We will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family and we cant wait to go there again. xx
Totally exceeded my expectations Stayed at this hotel for just one night as a late minute night away.Greeted warmly and told that parking was restricted but available at an extra cost of £10 per night which is well worth it and directly outside the hotel door. Our rooms were ready at the time of our arrival. We had booked a double and twin rooms and found we had been given double rooms with an extra bed already an added bonus !! The rooms were spotlessly clean and had fabulous sea views.Tea naming facilities were well stocked up.On the night we stayed there was a quiz night and bingo. ..which suited us fine…our age group being mid 40s up to mid 80s.The bar is well stocked and has a happy hour at the time of our stay this started at 5.30.Breakfast was just lovely. ..you are served freshly cooked English or Irish breakfast at the counter and can eat as much as you want There is also a good choice of cereals yoghurt fruit juices etc so there is something there to please everyone again the dining room is spotlessly clean. Our experience at this hotel was fantastic…from checking in to checking out we could not fault anything. Well done the Royal Grosvenor we will definitely return.
A good stay We had 3 nights here and enjoyed it. The hotel is nearing the end of a big renovation project and work was going on during the day. It didn’t make any difference to us, in fact seeing the daily changes was quite interesting! We had a sea view room which was clean with a large built in wardrobe. The normal tea and coffee was provided. The bed was nice and comfy too. It’s a beautiful old building, the bedroom windows don’t fit very well, but there’s not much that can be done about that. Breakfast was plentiful and well cooked, and the lady serving was very friendly. We managed to park at the front of the hotel, but the spaces are limited. Everyone was really friendly and we would definitely stay here again ☺
perfect situation This hotel was on a perfect spot overlooking the beach. My room 303 was on the ground floor opening on to the terrace and patio. It was clean and tidy. The food was good. The entertainment was really good and was was everyone. The staff were very nice and very helpful. I found it a very relaxed hotel and would certainly go back again..
Great view Came down here on a coach trip,I’ve been on plenty and for the money you pay they are always basic. This hotel is in a great location.I paid for a single room and they gave me a double bed.My room was on the ground floor with a balcony and sea views. The buffet breakfast was lovely and the evening meals were good also. The evening entertainment was brilliant and all the staff were pleasant.
Great 2 Night Stay November 2013 We stayed in a lovely clean and comfortable double room last weekend. Room 202 – great sea view. We had a wonderful view of the beach and the pier and a bonus firework display right outside our window from the next door hotel on the Saturday evening, which was also great fun. Room was decorated very nicely and the bedding was spotless and of good design and quality, very very comfortable ! We had two great sleeps. En-suite bathroom had toilet, basin and large corner shower cubicle, nice hot water too and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was fab, good full English and good selection of cereals if that’s what you prefer. Staff are really helpful and friendly. Bar staff really nice and the prices are very good too. All in all we had a lovely stay and will certainly be going back to the Royal Grosvenor again very soon.
Balloon Festival Bristol. We went on a trip to see the Balloon Festival in Bristol with a tour company, was booked to stay one night. We went on the 9th of this month and came home the 10th same weekend as “Hurricane Bertha”, did manage to see Sat evenings show which was great… but Sunday morning was a NO NO !!!!! Linda could not do enough for us and a few more on our trip, As we decided to travel home by Train rather than walk around Bristol for about 4/5 hours. Linda got all the train times sorted for us and organised taxi’s for those that needed them, cannot thank this woman or her staff enough, would def: stay there again. Food, Room, staff was just great. nothing to much trouble.
Lovely Stay, nice people, rooms and great breakfast. We were really pleased with our stay at the Royal Grosvenor Hotel. It is on the doorstep to the attractions at Weston Super Mare and the people were friendly. The rooms were nice and comfortable and the shower was powerful enough. The breakfast was great with a choice of eggs. Really pleased.
Night away We stayed as a group of 11 ladies of various ages for a 60th birthday night away. Booking….. i booked over the phone direct with the hotel. I was very pleased with the way my booking was handled. The lady i spoke with was pleasant and very helpful. Originally booked 5 twin rooms and a triple however 2 dropped out. Ammending the booking was a simple phone call away. Check in…… we arrived around 12noon a little earlier than check in time. We were given a warm welcome and directed to the bar area where we were able to enjoy drinks on the terrace. The lady on reception came to hand us the keys when the rooms were ready. Lovely clean and tidy rooms. Lovely full cooked breakfast plenty of choice. Overall our stay was very pleasant and would definatly re-book this hotel. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful stay x
lovely stay at Royal Grosvenor Hotel we had a great time at Royal Grosvenor Hotel staff were great always there to help good entertainment every night happy hour/s in afternoon rooms very clean we would stay here again easy access to shops and beach
Great value for money Just arrived back from r.grovenor and although its an old hotel they have updated most rooms which are very nice. It does look dated in other places but its 2 star and v. Good value. Lovely breakfast and staff were very helpful. My husband and I would def stay here again. Thank you for good short stay we enjoyed it especially the lovely warm room even the hotel in winter was warmer than any other we have stayed.
100% If you want a place to stay, reasonable prices, great breakfast choices, then book this Staff are lovely and friendly, rooms cleaned a lot, I can’t fault it for cleanliness, Very near beach, pier, shops
Carnival and Fireworks When we stayed here last November (2012) we decided to book for this year and bring our two boys, wives and five grandchildren. We missed the carnival and fireworks last year but managed to see both this time. All our family thoroughly enjoyed the long weekend, even though weather wet, windy and cold. It was lovely being able to let the grandkids stay up late with us, even though they spent most time on the pool table. Our youngest said it was his best holiday in England, I said why, was it the carnival and fireworks, he said no he loved the hotel and the staff. As usual the breakfasts were top rate and we loved the sausages, apparently sourced from a local butcher. It is nice in this day and age to still get hot plates to eat off. Some of the decor is tired but the rooms we had were updated and colour coordinated. I don’t know what some folks expect for their money. The rooms were also nice and warm, which was most welcoming after watching the Carnival, which incidentally was awesome. Well done to all who participated, either on or off the floats. We will return. Thank you Royal Grosvenor.
Wonderful Seaside Hotel We have been staying every summer at the Royal Grovenor Hotel, Weston Super Mare for over 10 years now and it never disappoints us. This wonderful family run hotel is a great relaxing stay, with amazing stunning views across the bay and pier. Lovely comfortable bedrooms, fantastic breakfast and staff, who over the years, have become good friends of ours. We love your hotel ….. See you next year. Thanks Nicky and everyone at RGH xx
Great value coach group weekend stay! My wife and I, along with my Father In Law stayed at this family run hotel as part of a coach trip long weekend from 4th to 7th Feb. We received a warm welcome and our rooms were comfortable and characterful. All of the staff were extremely friendly and attentive and the food was of a very high standard, especially the buffet breakfast. We found the hotel to be excellent value for money and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Illuminated Carnival Stayed two nights for the illuminated Carnival with friends. We were greeted by friendly staff who helped make space to park our minibus. Room was clean and nicely decorated as was the rrest of the hotel. The food was of a good standard and I felt full afterwards. The breakfast was good but the quality of the sausages could be better and no mushrooms. The bar prices were very good for a hotel and the happy two hours were even better! The barman was friendly and was on top of his job. He should have a glass collector at peek times to help him. The water system at the hotel seems to have issues. Luke warm shower most of the time, I only had one shower that felt warm. In summary, good food and great staff helped to make it a good stay.
Wonderful Hotel Fabulous older style hotel with all the modern comforts. I just stayed as part of a group of 27 people from Shropshire for 3 nights. I was allocated room 101 by the fabulous Nicola. Lovely room, with a balcony and sea views. Very nice food, no complaints whatsoever. First night was Roast Chicken, 2nd night was Plaice and Roast Beef on the last night. I must mention Di and Tina who served the fantastic freshly cooked breakfast each morning.. Both have worked there for 30 YEARS!!!. I had a fantastic time thank you for everything.
Welcoming Hotel Really enjoyed our stay they let us get on with our own bingo even let us use their tickets staff were lovely but best of all the food was so good The place was lovely and clean and in a lovely place. All our group really enjoyed it and said they would reccomend to anyone
Great weekend get away. Enjoyed a lovely weekend with friends at the hotel, all the staff gave excellent service and the food was delicious. Downsides: Very little parking. My room had no safe, no shampoo, no shower gell, no fridge, no coat/hat hook on the back of the door & the towel rail kept falling off. There was a veranda but no garden.
fantastic location clean and friendly hotel my husband and I was recommended to stay at this hotel. Rooms were clean and spacious location was the best. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly and very knowligable lady named Jane. We went to our room the view was fantastic and the eat all u can breakfast faultless. We went to the bar the next afternoon for a drink and was served by the lady who checked us in the day previously and she was warm and curtious.
On the sea front, clean, great staff Although classified a 2 star on booking.com, this was not a bad hotel. Very clean, great location, and this was a busy weekend ( scooter rally), and the staff were fabulous. They were kept really busy but always polite and smiling. The bedrooms might be a tad warm in summer as no aircon and the windows have guards on them to restrict opening too wide, but clean and comfortable.
Gill and Sandy Stayed for 2 nights on the weekend of !7th May with a group of good friends for our yearly visit,,all the staff were fantastic, breakfast wonderful, but I would like to mention Keith our wonderful barman always the perfect gentleman, see you next time x
Very decent seafront hotel 🙂 We stayed in room 315 on the ground floor and have no complaints! Parking is limited so ensure to book a space. Nice size clean room – excellent location. Our view was overlooking the car park but it didn’t bother us at all. We could check in early at 1pm as the room was ready, which was really helpful. We didn’t eat so can’t comment on the food – Wetherspoons next door for cheap and cheerful breakfast! Overall it was an enjoyable stay in a very decent hotel 🙂
Third weekend this year Just come back from another weekend at the Grosvenor which was great and l cant believe the rubbish some people write This is an old hotel which is full of character but is well looked after…Linda on reception is a star and will do all she can to help you,the rooms are cleaned daily beds made, fresh towels bathrooms cleaned, tea and coffee. Breakfast well if you could have more choice l dont know where it would be..numerous fruit juices (not just your standard orange)everything from porridge to cereal to a full english….the staff cant do enough for you bringing fresh tea and coffee and topping up if you want more and are very polite as are the bar staff .This hotel is a gem there are few of them left that give you such a friendly service x
Superb Position And Amazing Views Lovely newly decorated rooms. A family room and a double next to each other. Both had amazing sea views. Just right for 4 adults, a toddler and a tiny baby. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were warm and we had modern Freeview HD TV. Breakfast was lovely. Cereals, full English and plenty of tea and coffee. The poached eggs were delicious. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Our two year old granddaughter was well catered for and she enjoyed playing in the spacious family room and watching CBBC. The bar was reasonably priced and we took advantage of the Happy Hour. Weston-Super-Mare was ideal for our family break and I would highly recommend staying at this great hotel which is right on the sea front. Well done The Royal Grosvenor Hotel.
GREAT FOR GROUP Just returned after long weekend break which I organised for group of 20. Everyone was very happy with food, service and, especially, value for money. .
Great weekend Went on a turkey & Tinsel weekend. Hotel staff great , lift broken difficult as we had quite a few disabled with us. Our room clean and tidy , bathroom needs upgrade, No shampoo or gel you can purchase from reception. Room drafts from window. The food was very good, and a great choice. Entertainment in the evening, bingo ok Singers were average . Drinks reasonable price. All in all a good weekend, with a bit of maintenance it could be very good. I would go again. Weston is a good place to shop great centre .
Wonderful hotel Only stayed one night this time but stayed here lots of times before staff helpful rooms tastefull and clean and inviting nice views balcony view great bar staff helpful and chatty a real bonus would recommend buffet breakefast fresh and tasty with lots of choice
Lovely one night stay Lovely stay at the grovesnor Hotel weston .very nice room nice bathroom .a big bar but no entertainment on the night we stated.free parking saves £10 in the multistorey carpark .breakfast was full English breakfast was spot on .there’s working going on nextdoor in wetherspoons but never heard a thing thank you guys will return
Fricktheted Stayed here overnight for a family reunion .. we had a lovely large clean room with a sea veiw .. the staff were lovely .. must praise les the barman for dealing with a small incident .. very proffesional xx we will be returning in the very near future .. thank you royal grosvenor for a great stay x
Brilliant Stay Had a brilliant stay in this family ran hotel. They catered to all my needs & nothing was too much trouble. Even when I broke down, they helped out. Just a minutes walk to the beach & 2 minutes to the pier. Set in the heart of everything in Weston. Had their breakfast a few morning & to be honest, it was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Would definitely recommend a stay & will most definitely be going back myself. Thank you Nikki, Lorraine & Jane for everything you did to make my stay with you so rememberable XXX
Very good We have just returned from our 2nd visit with our group from 2Ks Travel, and again we had a very warm welcome and really great time. Food was very good especially the fantastic breakfast.Rooms were lovely a lot of us having sea views, and the entertainment was first class with something on every night. The staff are all friendly pleasant and very helpful. We all throughly enjoyed it and look forward to returning again next year.
Perfect for us! Just had the one night stay but was a really nice hotel. Room a little small along with the bathroom but wasn’t expecting The Ritz tbh. Breakfast was lovely, service very good too. Listened to the outside singer on our one night and he kept us all entertained. Not sure what people expect from a centrally located beachfront hotel but it certainly met our needs and expectations. Thank you!
Fabulous customer service I have just returned from a four night stay with a group of people with dementia, carers and former carers. From arrival to departure, the staff could not have been anymore helpful if they tried – nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of natural light and extra lamps. The shower was hot and worked well. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space with extra hangers. A good flat screen tv at a decent height. The good was good and the staff at breakfast and dinner went out of their way to accommmodate. My friend who lives with young onset dementia has difficulties at mealtimes and the staff tried to help as much as they possibly could, truly dementia friendly. The signage to the rooms could have been beter but we had much fun trying to find our rooms, and as the hotel is made up of several areas being knocked through, the stairs are a bit undulating but there is a lift so I recommend using it! The bar stocked my Mum’s favourite Jack Rabbit and not badly priced either at £10 per bottle. The entertainment each night was as expected in hotels and we enjoyed a dance and a sing every night. The hotel is close to the town’s many shops and is situated just off the sea front. I’d highly recommend a trip to the Royal Grosvenor if only to meet the delightful staff.
A Lovely Pleasant Stay We stayed here at the Grosvenor Hotel and from the moment we walked in at reception the Lovely Friendly Staff just cdnt do enough ! It is a Beautiful Hotel and the rooms are also very nice and spacious , we had one with a sea view and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The breakfast was amazing and you cd have as much as you wanted ! So all in all we Wd recommend This Hotel to anyone and we will always stay here in future when visiting Weston super mare . Brilliant and Lovely
Nice Hotel , warm and friendly staff in a perfect seafront location. Took a large group of gents here ranging in age from 23 to 58. First impressions which always make such a difference ensured that we were all made to feel welcome. So nice to be recieved by helpful and personable staff with a great sense of humour. (Thanks Linda and Nikki) . Bar is sensibly priced and has a happy hour from 5.30 — 7.30 with most long drinks i.e beer/larger/cider ranging in price from £2.50 to £2.70. (as of Sep 2015). The bar area leads out to a lovely large decking area which catches the sun and has great views which overlooks the beach and pier area. If you should so wish , the music played inside the bar area can be extended to add to the party atmosphere of the decking. – Thanks again Linda for the music ( and your sense of humour) Rooms are comfortable and vary in price depending on sea view and availability of balcony. Breakfast – full English, plenty of it and tasty. – (Once again friendly and personable staff)
Easter break 2017 came to stay at this hotel for a few day’s over Easter, never stayed here before so it was all new to us and all I can say is wow, The rooms are large and of high quality, The food was really nice and you could also have as much breakfast as you wanted and the staff were really friendly and helpful, we will definitely stay here again in the future.
lovely hotel walked in of the street (just decided to go to wsm when we got up that morning) they had a room with breakfast as well so we booked it , lovely room and bathroom ,tea/coffee kettle lovely little balcony overlooking the green to the side of hotel, they had a small bar with a tv , thoroughly enjoyed our little stay, and would return .the breakfast was tasty and plenty of it !!
Friendly helpful staff Although an older style hotel it was clean and the staff were all very helpful and pleasant. I believe the rooms were under refurbishment. All the staff were brilliant from the reception staff, bar staff, porters and all the girls in the restaurant. The food was excellent a great choice for breakfast and dinner and it was served quickly and attentively. Its location was perfect for the seafront and all the shops. The only let down was the parking, fine if you were driving a car but not for coaches. Would recommend this hotel no problem.
Lovely hotel My friends organised a weekend trip in memory of my late partner and they chose to stay in this hotel. It’s a lovely hotel and very accommodating with the children of the group. Rooms were spotless although a little dated and the bathroom door was very difficult to shut (had to slam it hard) but other than that it was perfect for what we wanted for the weekend. It is perfectly situated and in walking distance to the pier and seafront. Breakfast was fab. The staff were friendly and lovely. Would recommend staying here. There is parking at hotel but we parked next door in the Royal hotel car park and it cost £12 for 24 hours which was perfect for what we needed.
Lovely as usual Stayed here for a few nights as a break away, we always stay here when we get a break. It’s peaceful clean and very comfortable definitely one of the best places to stay in Weston. The location is perfect and the sea view rooms have a great view over the pier never stayed for food but evening food smelt lovely.
Hospitality is second to none We requested sea view fur every room and we were all given exactly that. Lorraine was an absolute gem from start to finish This hotel is spotlessly clean all tea and coffee facilities provided rooms are well equipped this hotel is not posh by any means However the best welcome awaits you snd entire hotel was immaculately clean.. central beachfront location right next door to a Wetherspoons which suited our party I took a party of 8 here and every person enjoyed their stay will most definitely book here again thank you for the kind welcome zprobsbly the best value for money stay we have booked for a long time .
Lovely hotel and staff I have just returned from a 6 day stay at the Royal Grosvenor Hotel, with a coach party. We were greeted with a smile, keys laid on Reception desk ready, no waiting at all. Our room (my husband and I) was on first floor, overlooking the sands and the Pier. Although we couldn’t sit out (because of weather) there was a balcony with chairs. Our room was large enough, thoughtfully furnished and was very clean. Light and spacious bathroom (tho’ the shower was a bit slow). Tea tray with ample tbags etc.,, and the milk was replaced everyday. Dining Room – the waitresses were very pleasant with smiles and greetings everytime we entered, the breakfast and dinners were nicely cooked and served with speed. There was entertainment on several evenings. Only one little point, a couple of people in our party mentioned that their bedrooms were rather small. Apart from that everyone had a great time. Weston Super mare has plenty of shops, a lovely prom and the pier.
old but not tired I stayed at the royal hotel on a business trip , and first impressions were very good , and old rather grand looking building , in need of a little tlc but still a loverly old style hotel with a really nice feel. My room was a little on the small side , but still ticked all the boxes , ensuite with a decent shower , tea & coffee , a desk and a comfy single bed. the tv was a little on the small side but the sea view ( yes i could see the sea ) more than made up for the tv’s size. the bar was well stocked and i could not fault the staff, very helpfull. a good choice for breakfast and great location next to the winter gardens completes the picture. dont expect a modern hotel if you book here , it’s a hotel that’s been lost in a time warp…..and that’s not a bad thing. I would book this hotel again when i next stay in western-super-mare.
Excellent hotel, highly recommended Wasn’t expecting much as the price was so low,I was only after somehwere to get my head down overnight whilst I had some work done on my campervan. What a fantastic surprise though. Room was really nice – looked like it had recently been tastefully painted and decorated and the view over the sea superb. Breakfast was excellent too, cereals and yoghurts to start off with and then a pick your own buffet style breakfast – black pudding, beans, mushrooms, fried eggs, bacon, sausage and fried bread and as much tea and toast as you want! I’d have given it a 6 if I could.
Good hotel 🏨 Stayed here for turkey tinsel not to bad rooms average but clean and comfortable staff helpful stayed 1 time before the year before same experience always got a beautiful sea veiw
very good Have stayed at this hotel a few times in the last 2 years all staff friendly, and very helpfull ,tea and coffee supplied , breakfast is pick what you like, good rooms ,good food, clean and tidy, win win.
Ideally located, value for money Stayed here for one night with girl friends. The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. It is an old building with a rabbit warren of stairs, corridors and rooms but this adds to the charm. Our room, while in need of a re furbishment in the bathroom and a touch of paint here and there was clean, had very comfortable beds and a fantastic view of the pier and sea front. The hotel is centrally located for all the attractions WSM has to offer but surprisingly quiet at night. The bar was reasonably priced and the cooked breakfast was hot and plenty of it. My only negative as far as breakfast was a lack of choice of cold foods; grapefruit, yogurt, fresh friut. Good parking in the hotel and on a less windy day nice seating outside overlooking the promenade. We paid £40 each for the night B&B. Excellent value for money, in a central location with excellent service from all the staff.
Weekend break Warm and helpful welcome from Linda. Remember to get your parking ticket! Ideal location near promenade and local bars and restaurants with fabulous views from balcony. Room was clean, with all that you need for a great stay. WSM gives you the rest!
Pleasantly surprised Just returned from Christmas break at the Grosvenor and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel for the price we paid. Food was excellent throughout our stay both breakfast and evening meals. All members of staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel and rooms were spotlessly clean throughout. It is in a great position for all amenities in Weston just five minutes walk from the pier, theatre and town centre. We stayed in room 115 with views across to the sea front and pier. There is a lift to one side of the hotel though it is little on the small side four persons at a squeeze. All in all a great Christmas break with entertainment every evening and we would definitely stay here again.
Fricky56 We come here yearly as I scattered my moms ashes in Weston .. the whole family love this hotel .. rooms are great and the staff can’t do enough for you .. can’t wait to return .. it’s always a pleasure to visit .. the late May bank holiday we had a dj on the terrace who played lots of northern soul and mowtown .. a perfect day to remember my mom .. Weston-super-Mare is a special place for me and the Grosvenor make the icing on the cake for us …
Fantastic Just got back this morning from Royal Grosvenor Hotel, and I would go back and I would recommend it, there was a group of us, and yes we wasn’t the quietest, but when we got asked to be more quiet we did. The bar staff are really friendly and could not do enough for you, and the breakfast is delicious, I would travel there every day to have the breakfast yum yum…
Lovely stay Hotel clean nicely furnished, y parking limited breakfast fresh and delicious, staff friendly and welcoming.would stay again, plenty of restaurants and bars up and down seafront😄Lovely view of sea and pier
great time Mr+Mrs Davies from wales had a great time ain the royal grosvenor hotel in weston-super-mare. Lovely generous people food great hope to see them again soon.
J. Wales First time we have stayed at this hotel. Receptionist really nice, very helpful even though the lady was extremely busy. Bedroom was very clean and tidy with a sea view. Breakfast Full English. Buffet Style.Eat as much as you like. Excellent and very hot. Hotel was very good value for the prices they charge. We really recommend this hotel and shall be returning ourselves in the near future.
Excellent considering what you pay My wife and I stayed here with a group in April 2017. We found the staff very helpful and obliging. The food was good, so much so we had to keep reminding ourselves that this is a 2 star hotel. The Hotel is very convenient, near the sea front and close to the town centre
Weekend break Just got back from weston. Great weekend. Hotel brilliant, food excellence, drink great. Happy hour a God send. Staff very friendly. Breakfast a must. Even though they are decorating there is no hold up. Very quite at night. Would recommend this hotel to all who want a brilliant and quite hotel.
don’t listen to the bad reviews Just back from a 5 day break in this hotel, had a great time. Good weather helped a lot but no complaints about the hotel. Room was spacious and clean well appointed fresh towels daily. Big double windows opened wide and gave great views of pier, beach, winter garden theater and promenade. Staff were all helpful and polite even the receptionist other people complained about. A good varied menu food was good and plentiful. Entertainment was laid on three evenings all were very good singers, who provided a very wide range of song types. Don’t understand why this hotel had bad reviews is a bit dated in places but is getting done up bit by bit. The room we were in had been refurbished room 106. Dinning room is downstairs but there is a lift.
Fantastic family hotel Just want to say stayed here last week for 5 days.. Really nice warm friendly family run hotel. Hotel very clean and food was excellent. Highlyrecommend, definetly will be returning for Xmas. Carnival was amazing!! Watched from hotel bar fabulous view.
Royal Grosvenor Hotel, Weston-super-Mare I have just spent 6 days at this lovely hotel. The staff where absolutely fantastic, friendly, helpful and professional the whole time. I was the coach driver for a Glenton group of pensioners on a holiday and every single one of them said the same. The food was faultless and the entertainment every evening was brilliant and the rooms were excellent. I hope to get another trip down to the hotel with another tour and would highly recommend, situated 1 minute from the beach.
Great family run hotel Stayed 4 nights as a group. Very friendly welcome, nothing too much trouble for the staff, really helpful at all times. We even had a phone call before arriving to check if anyone would like a different main course to the one they were providing on our first night. Food was very good. Can recommend the excellent home made vegetable lasagne. Usually a choice of a meat or fish main course with a separate vegetarian menu if required. Good honest home cooking at its best. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Only suggestion for improvement would be to have shampoo/body wash dispensers in the shower. At present need to take these items which nowadays most establishments provide.
Friendly, comfortable & clean We have just returned home from a 6 night stay with a coach party of 49 & we were more than happy. Our buffet breakfast was excellent, served by friendly staff. We had a 3 course evening meal , again the waitresses were very efficient & pleasant. Nothing was too much bother. Evening entertainment every other night too was very good. Must say a special thank you to Linda & the barman who helped when one of our party took ill & had to go to hospital. Would definitely recommend it.
Clean helpful a brilliant time I have just returned from this hotel and had a brilliant time. I am disabled but found the staff more than helpful. The rooms were lovely and welcoming, the meals were more than you could expect, a friend who was with me is allergic to something and the staff and the chef were so helpful to make sure that the food did not contain anything that would make her ill. The person who wrote the evil comment well if they thought the hotel was that bad why did they stay for the week. I know that if the hotel was that bad I know I would not have stayed. There was no smell of old people but old age is not a right given to everyone but hopefully that person gets to old age and I hope no one treats them with that disrespect that this person has shown to all elderly people. There was some building work about but there were no problem with the workmen who were more than helpful helping members of our party, I have a mobility scooter and they were helpful in lifting my scooter up the steps. I would like to say a very big thank you to all the staff for all their help in helping us in having a wonderful time
Another old but reasonable hotel in Weston Super Mare There are limited car parking spaces so get there early. The hotel is old but it looks like it has bee redecorated inside and is quite acceptable. The reception area is behind a high counter which is different but behind the counter was this old woman, no offence meant, who looked after our needs and off we went in a 2 person lift to our floor. It looks like some of the old doors have been replaced by newish ones which somewhat spoils the looks. The room contained a double and single bed, both comfy, plenty of pillows and cushions, 2 arm chairs with puffs. Plenty of storage foe one night, TV, coffee/tea, en suite and a wonderful view of the town and beach, including the pier. We had a drink and it was reasonably priced but with Wetherspoons next door their prices cannot be beaten. The breakfast although described as buffet was help yourself to cereals and cold stuff whilst you were served the hot food, rather strange but acceptable. Friendly staff checked us out – 2 younger women present. Overall it was a lovely hotel, well positioned for anything in town and reasonable price. I will return.
Very good family run hotel Went last July on coach trip for 5 days, brilliant staff, food excellent wonderful view from our room, so easy to walk to the town and also the wonderful pier, which is worth a visit , the entertainment in hotel excellent
Nice hotel Came here as a little Anniversary break, we had a basic double room and it was clean, had everything we need and was given fresh towells on second day, which was nice, staff was friendly nice little bar enjoyed sitting outside on the patio area. Good location Only negative was the noise from people outside our room at 5:30 till 6am men shouting and laughing and banging doors plus noise from outside most of the night which isn’t hotels fault so didn’t sleep great ,but we would stay again as the 2nd night was a lot quieter so might have been a one off.
A perfect holiday Came home yesterday from the royal Grosvenor hotel I was on a coach trip Monday to Friday this is the second time I have stayed here the staff are fantastic reception bar staff cleaners and the hard working ladies in the dining room the menu was great lots of choices you get well looked after they have extended the balcony outside lovely wicker furniture tables and umbrellas it’s overlooking the pier and sea I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody I didn’t want to come home after being well looked after
Great Weekend ! Just enjoyed 3 night long weekend booked direct at short notice . Receptionist explained that room was not too big ,but was on ground floor ,with patio space overlooking large green and the pier. The hotel was spotless ,the owners friendly and helpful . Breakfast was a comprehensive buffet and suited us fine. Overall, relaxing ,enjoyable ,and good value . “we will return “.
Excellent stay We stayed here over the Christmas period. The staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough. Food was excellent and varied. Our room was large with a sea view and a balcony. The only downside was a lack of hot water and the bed wasn’t very comfortable but overall a very enjoyable stay. Would definitely recommend this hotel.Let us know what we were able to do for you.
